Here is how the cricketers spent their day on Twitter and Instagram today.

The cricketing trends on the social media revolved around a number of events, including the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the first of today’s doubleheader at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi, the Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 16 runs. Moreover, the Capitals also progressed to the playoffs along with the MS Dhoni-captained Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

RCB was asked to chase down 188 that they eventually couldn’t. Amit Mishra, who picked up a couple of important wickets, felt ecstatic after the Capitals success in the game. Shikhar Dhawan posted a picture along with the Kotla crowd and thanked the supporters for their love and admiration. Hemang Badani, a former Indian batsman, and Mohammad Kaif congratulated the Shreyas Iyer-led Capitals.

In the meantime, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also played the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Shubman Gill was sent to open the batting along with Chris Lynn and the Young Turk churned out a classy knock of 76 runs off45 balls with six fours and four sixes.

Aakash Chopra Cricketer turned commentator Ian Bishop heaped praises on the Fazilka-born cricketer. Meanwhile, Ashok Dinda lashed out the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for trolling him, posting a photo on their official Twitter handle. CSK’s Deepak Chahar posted a photo where he was seen enjoying in the swimming pool.
