The cricketing trends on the social media revolved mainly around what is going on between India and Pakistan in the wake of the Pulwama attack. The cricketing world was also busy talking about the recent games that took place last evening and today. In the latest development, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced the Pakistan government will release Abhinandan Varthaman tomorrow as a goodwill gesture after the Indian Air Force Wing Commander was captured in Pakistan.
Cricketers from both the countries hailed the decision. Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh, who has been very vocal on the topic, hailed the decision. Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar was also pleased with the monumental decision as he reiterated the importance of avoiding a war. Legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi, on his part, pointed out the damages caused by the war as political tension between India and Pakistan continues to escalate due to the recent incidents.
Delhi star Unmukt Chand and India Test wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha dedicated their knocks in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to the brave soldiers of India. There is also some good news for Rajasthan Royals and Australia fans as Steve Smith has started practising after undergoing a surgery on his problematic elbow. Smith had sustained the injury during the Bangladesh Premier League which had raised doubts over his participation in the upcoming IPL and the World Cup.
Glenn Maxwell received some word of praise from his skipper Aaron Finch and former Australia batsman Dean Jones after his century fired Australia to a 2-0 T20I series win over India. Ahead of the upcoming five-match ODI series against Australia, Kedar Jadhav was looking in an upbeat mood as well.
