The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around the crucial game between New Zealand and Pakistan in the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales. The Men in Green brought their A game early in Birmingham to leave the Kiwis stunned. Shaheen Afridi rocked them completely with a stunning first spell of 3/11 in seven overs. The fraternity was all praise for the youngster as he moved the ball superbly and made full use of the conditions.

Shadab Khan also bowled a beautiful delivery to dismiss the in-form New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson. The wicket left the Kiwis struggling at 83/5 and the former cricketers were in awe of the leggie for bowling a beauty to get one of the best batsmen in the world. However, James Neesham played well then along with Colin de Grandhomme and the social media was filled with praises for both the all-rounders.

New Zealand recovered superbly from the dire position and ended up with 237 runs on the board after 50 overs. Neesham remained unbeaten on 97 and many thought the game was on in Birmingham. Meanwhile, there was also a buzz around India’s next game against the Windies on Thursday in Manchester. While it is a must-win game for the Caribbeans, India will look to get one step closer to the semi-final qualification.
