The cricketing trends in social media today saw the cricketers from all over the world interact with their followers across platforms. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a plethora of cricketers took to Twitter to wish their sisters and brothers. On the day when the incredible bond between a brother and a sister is celebrated, cricketers like Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan and Rudra Pratap Singh expressed their wishes. Harbhajan Singh posted a beautiful picture with his sisters. Looking dapper in a white punjabi and red turban the cricketer stood in the middle of his sisters. Suresh Raina shifted a bit from his regular gym videos to post a lovely picture of his sister tying the Rakhi on his hand.
Speedsters Rudra Pratap Singh and Irfan Pathan wished everyone and their dear fans a very happy Raksha Bandhan. Now comes the big one. And it is none other than Virender Sehwag who came up with a trademark hilarious ‘Virender Sehwag special’ on the special occasion. The cricketer posted pictures of his sisters tying him Rakhi. Well, there was nothing unusual about it but the punch lied in the caption. Sehwag wished his sisters Anju and Manju a very happy Rakhi and termed them as ‘Anju Ji’ and ‘Manju Ji’. In an effort to make it rhyme he termed himself as ‘half Ganju Ji’ referring to his half bald head.
Indian left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha took a moment to hail Usain Bolt. Bolt who ran his last race in London is one of the greatest Olympians of all time winning 8 Gold medals at the big stage. Though bolt had to settle for the bronze in his final 100-meter race winner Justin Gatlin bowed down in front of the fastest man on earth. Pragyan Ojha shared a picture of the moment and stated that this is exactly what Usain Bolt deserves.
Yusuf Pathan posted two beautiful pictures of his brother Irfan Pathan posing with a colourful macaw. He also thanked Irfan for taking care of the wonderful creature in his absence. Indian skipper Virat Kohli is having a gala time at the island nation after winning the Test series against Sri Lanka. On an off day, Virat took the opportunity and posted a picture of his taking full advantage of a cosy bed and getting some much-needed rest. Kevin Pietersen posted a small video of his holding a book on Rhinos and asked his fans to contribute in saving the wonderful species.
