The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around the 24th match between the hosts England and Afghanistan of the ongoing World Cup. The fraternity was in awe of the England skipper Eoin Morgan who broke the world record of the most sixes by an individual in an ODI inning. He went past the record holders Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma to slam 17 sixes during his 148-run knock of just 71 deliveries. His knock also propelled England to a huge total of 397 runs for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs.

The former cricketers were all praise of the England captain and the fact that he did it with a bad back left everyone surprised. Morgan had walked off the field in the previous due to a back spasm and was only declared fit for this game in the morning just before the toss. Michael Vaughan, Aakash Chopra, Nasser Hussain were the few among many to praise him and many even went on to say that England possesses the most dangerous batting line-up in the ongoing World Cup.

Meanwhile, India’s win over Pakistan was still trending as England woman cricketer Katherine Brunt loved the Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s energy. Jasprit Bumrah posted a picture with his mother while Jemimah Rodrigues posted a funny video having fun with her teammates.
