The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. India and Australia locked horns in the 2019 World Cup at the Kennington Oval in London. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Men in Blue, captained by Virat Kohli, went on to amass a humongous score of 352 in their 50 overs. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma built the platform with a partnership of 127 in 22.3 overs.

Dhawan was absolutely outstanding and notched a century off 95 deliveries. The left-hander went on to score 117 off 119 balls with the help of 16 boundaries before falling prey to Mitchell Starc. Rohit also did his task expertly, having notched 57 off 70 balls. After their dismissal, the swashbuckling Hardik Pandya romped in and blasted 48 off 27 balls. MS Dhoni also chipped in with a 14-ball 27 and propelled India’s score.

After the stunning show with the bat, the cricketing fraternity wished the Indians. The likes of Hemang Badani, Virender Sehwag and many others were over the moon. Aakash Chopra was excited when Dhoni was weaving magic with the bat in hand. Ravi Bopara believes that the Aussies don’t have the firepower to chase the target down.

In the meantime, Alan Wilkins didn’t seem happy by any means. In Jasprit Bumrah’s first ball, the leather hit the stumps, but the bails weren’t dislodged. Consequently, Australian opening batsman, David Warner got a much-needed lifeline. Subsequently, Wilkins expressed his displeasure over the bails.

Sanju Samson got to meet the legendary Brian Lara and posted a picture along with him. Sachin Tendulkar shared a picture along with Sunil Gavaskar and Sehwag. Pakistan batsman Babar Azam uploaded a photo with his teammates and called them a ‘family’.
