The cricketing trends today on social media revolved around Sri Lanka’s thumping win over South Africa and the second ODI between India and England. The Islanders bowled well and skittled out the visitors only for 73 runs in the second innings as they were chasing the target of 352 runs in Galle. But the duo of Dilruwan Perera and Rangana Herath landed the balls in right areas on a spinning wicket and left the batsmen bamboozled who had no idea of where the ball was turning.

As far as the game between India and England is concerned, Joe Root hogged all the limelight as he brought up his 12th ODI ton. England posted a daunting total of 322 runs after opting to bat first. Root’s 113-run knock was filled with the absolute class as the former and current cricketers tweeted for him. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav also garnered a lot of attention as he continued to trouble England batsmen. He returned with the figures of 3/68 in his 10 overs.

The likes of Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan were picked by him but England played his spin much better today. Ajinkya Rahane was thrilled to witness the semi-final clash of Wimbledon between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The match went right down to the wire as the latter won the five-set thriller and will play the final on Sunday now.
