The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around the ongoing Asia Cup which is currently in progress in the United Arab Emirates. The tournament began with Bangladesh thumping Sri Lanka by 137 runs in the opening game. They had posted 261 runs while batting first thanks to Mushfiqur Rahim’s ton and the Islanders collapsed to 124 all out in response which is why Mahela Jayawardene feels that the team should reunite and play well against Afghanistan to stay alive.

Meanwhile, Pakistan faced Hong Kong in the first game of Group A and skittled them for a meagre total of 116 runs in the 38th over. Usman Khan was the best bowler for them even as the likes of Shadab Khan and Hassan Ali supported him well by picking wickets at regular intervals. Shoaib Akhtar was delighted to watch them perform well and hoped that they chase down the target without many hiccups. They will face the arch-rivals India on September 19 which is a much-awaited clash.

Worcestershire won the T20 Blast by beating Sussex on the finals day. The congratulatory wishes poured in for the winners while many sympathised for Sussex as well who did extremely well to qualify for the title clash. Azhar Mahmood also jumped in the break the beard challenge as he posted the update on Twitter while Wriddhiman Saha was delighted to receive the invite of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Swachh Bharat Mission.
