The cricketing trends on social media today saw the cricketers from all over the world interact with their followers across platforms. One of the greatest rivalries in sporting history is living up to its expectations as the Adelaide Test has provided breathtaking entertainment thus far. From Shaun Marsh’s mind-boggling century to James Anderson’s five-fer, this has been one of the greatest Tests in recent times.

James Anderson was the star of the day for England, who ripped apart the Aussie lineup and brought England back in the contest. Chris Woakes picked up 4 of the most crucial wickets in the second innings, namely Steve Smith, David Warner, Shaun Marsh, and Tim Paine. Inspired by their excellent effort, skipper Joe Root smashed yet another half-century and propelled England to 176/4, still 178 runs behind the target.

Shikhar Dhawan celebrated his birthday in grand style as he notched a crucial half-century. The southpaw is still uncertain about making it to the XI in the South Africa tour for the Tests and this knock will do a world of good for him. Sri Lanka has lost 3 wickets in quick succession towards the end of the day’s play and only a miracle can deny India a 2-0 series triumph.

Shane Warne and Piers Morgan engaged in a friendly banter on Twitter. Morgan firstly posted a picture of Warne looking a bit tensed. The English journalist seemed a bit confident about an England win on day 5 and both these gentlemen gave a few lusty exchanges to each other.

The DRS proved to be a pivotal factor in a few Australian cricketers’ dismissals in the ongoing Ashes, which didn’t go down well with the Aussie fans and cricketers. Cameron White called DRS “Horse Shit” and on the other side, English cricketer Kevin Pietersen was all in awe of the technology. Professor Dean Jones was full of praises for the Pink-Ball Test and Ashes was trending more than anything else.
