David Miller apologizes to Kolkata Police Constable: Kings XI Punjab batsman David Miller has issued an apology to the Kolkata Police Constable Aloke Aich who lost vision in his right eye, after the constable was hit by a ball coming into the stands via a six from Miller. Following the incident a few matches later, a 10 years old boy who was cheering for the KXIP team during a practice session got hit on his head and fainted due to the impact. Since both these incidents happened when Miller was batting, the cricketer after realizing it has apologized to Mr. Aich for the irreversible loss that he has suffered.
Indian Express quoted Aich’s son saying: “I don’t know what will happen. With his right eye gone, I don’t think he would be able to sit behind the wheel again,”
“Will they keep him in the job or will he be asked to take voluntary retirement? How will we survive if he loses his job? We are a lower middle-class family, dependent solely on his income.”
Miller tweeted an apology which read: “The incident and its ramifications have been terrible. I wish this was not true – I am sorry for Mr Aich’s irreversible loss and wish him the best recovery possible.”
I am still in a state of shock and deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Mr Aich's eye. A freak accident! My prayers are with u.

Though the damage suffered by the Constable cannot be undone, but the cricketer and the IPL authorities should at least see to it that the man who was serving there on duty is not deprived off the basic rights which he deserves for his service.
