David Warner has had an incredible outing in Australia’s second Test versus Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval. The left-hander tormented the visitors’ bowling in the first match at The Gabba in Brisbane and has now been able to carry on with the momentum even in the final encounter of the series. The experienced Warner became the seventh Aussie batsman to notch a Test triple century.

After the hosts won the toss and elected to bat first, Shaheen Shah Afridi removed opener Joe Burns. However, David Warner, along with Marnus Labuschagne, steadied the ship for Australia. The duo added 361 runs for the second wicket to fizzle the spirit out of the Pakistan bowling attack. Following Labuschagne’s dismissal, Warner took the onus on himself and kept the scoreboard ticking.

He got to his double ton in the first session of the second day. When he was on 226, Muhammad Musa got him caught at gully. But to the pacer’s dismay, it turned out to be a no-ball and Warner ended up getting a reprieve. The missed chance cost Pakistan severely as Warner pressed the accelerator to get a triple ton. The southpaw did it with a boundary of Mohammad Abbas.

Warner also went past the legendary Sir Donald Bradman’s highest Test score of 299* at the Adelaide Oval, created back in 1932. When he was plundering the bowling on 335, slowly, but surely he was nearing Brian Lara’s world record of 400, Tim Paine, the Aussie skipper, decided to declare. The decision didn’t go down well with many and the netizens slammed Paine for his move.

A kid’s misfortune after David Warner gifted him a helmet

Following his triple ton, Warner was jubilated and jumped in sheer ecstasy. While making his way out, the veteran got applause from the packed Adelaide crowd. Even as he was returning to the pavilion with Australia’s score at 589/3, he gifted his helmet to a young kid in the stands.

However, after the boy was rewarded by Warner, a fight took place. In the brawl, some elder boys snatched the prized possession- the helmet- away from the little child. After the unfortunate occurring, the users on social media asked for justice for the helpless young kid.
