David Warner grateful for all Indian support, during his tenure this season of IPL
Warner bids adieu to the country with an emotional message.
David Warner took to Instagram and thanked the Indians who made David Warner and his family feel like home, during their stay in the country. He also posted a collage which highlights his best times during the tournament. David Warner himself has had yet another exceptional outing this season. It is a certainty that the swashbuckling opener from New South Wales would be the winner of the Orange Cap as he has amassed as many as 641 runs in the tournament.
Only Gautam Gambhir has a chance to get close to his tally of runs and it would need a couple of herculean efforts to overtake David Warner in the race for Orange cap. However, David Warner would be satisfied with his captaincy and performances with the bat, following a lukewarm Test Series against India. With Hyderabadâs exit in the tournament, Warnerâs 4-month long tour of India also comes to an end.
David Warnerâs next assignment would be in England and Wales for the ICC Champions Trophy starting on June 1. Australia is all set to face their Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand at Edgbaston, Birmingham on June 2. Before departing for London, David Warner left an emotional message, thanking the Indians for his amazing stay during all these months. He also put up a collage of himself along wife Candice and two daughters Ivy Mae and Indi Rae.
Gratitude message
âThank you to every single person that made our time in India amazing. I canât express how thankful and grateful I am. @sunrisershyd itâs been a privilege to be a part of this franchise and we are sorry we couldnât get the job done this year but we tried our best,â captioned the dashing opener.
He concluded by wishing good luck to the three teams alive in the tournament. âGood luck to the remaining teams. Thanks also to all our fans out there, without your continued support we would not be able to play the game that we love,â said the left-hander as he bid adieu to his time here in India.
