Former Australian batsman and Islamabad United coach Dean Jones made it clear that it is important for Pakistan to maintain tight security standards in the country during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament in February in 2018. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launched a campaign to resume international cricket in the country. So to fulfil drive PCB has been reaching out to cricket boards around the world to hosts bilateral series in the country.

Earlier this year, final of PSL season 2 was hosted in Lahore, ICC World XI and Sri Lankan T20I team played series against Pakistan. Now, West Indies are about to tour Pakistan to play three-match T20I series in the country. But, other cricketer boards like CA and ECB are not willing to visit Pakistan.

Meanwhile, PCB is reportedly in talks with the Cricket South Africa (CSA) for a series in the country. Now, in 2018 PCB planned to host the final of PSL 3 at Karachi National Stadium.

“You have to maintain the security. You drop it and you are in trouble,” Jones, who is in Lahore for the players’ draft for the third edition of the PSL, said. “I am stoked that cricket is coming back in Pakistan. I have been a great advocate of Pakistan cricket and have tried to get teams and players here. We need to change the mindset of some players and some countries about the brotherhood and love for each other in the cricket community,” he was quoted by the media.

“I have spoken already too many board members in Cricket Australia that things are changing in Pakistan. You are on the right track and you are getting the confidence slowly. But you can’t back off from the wonderful work that you have done in the last five years to bring cricket back in the country,” he added.

Meanwhile, the players draft of the PSL 3 will take place on November 12.
