Dean Jones trusts Mickey Arthur to sort out issues in Pakistan team

Pakistan have been knocked out of the Asia Cup after losing to Bangladesh in a virtual semi-final clash in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. The fans’ are understandably not happy as they expected their team to win the trophy and they didn’t even compete in any of the matches. Moreover, the fact that they lost badly to India twice must be hurting a lot as well. Even the coach Mickey Arthur has come under the scanner over his role. However, Dean Jones feels that he will sort out all the issues soon and the team will be back on track.

It was Arthur who had commented about taking a revenge over India in the final of the Asia Cup. But they had to beat Bangladesh before that and his batsmen failed to chase down the target of 240 runs when it mattered the most and succumbed to the pressure big time. Even the captain Sarfraz Ahmed‘s elongated poor form with the bat is not going down well now and it is clear that some harsh decisions will be taken.

Arthur is the right man

Mickey Arthur has changed the dynamics of Pakistan cricket ever since he has taken over as the head coach of the team. His partnership with Sarfraz has worked wonders for them and somehow things have gone awry in the Asia Cup. The team which was looking set to go the World Cup has looked totally out of shape suddenly.

Livid with the team’s show, one of the fans asked Dean Jones if he is ready to accept the coaching role of Pakistan in case he is offered. However, Jones in response showed his trust on Arthur and added that he will sort out the issues if there are any and being the team back on track. “No as I feel and trust Micky Arthur will sort this out. Pakistan’s senior players must stand up.. and not rely on just a few,” his reply read.
