Chennai Super Kings resumed their IPL 2021 season by registering an impressive win of 20 runs over Mumbai Indians. Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Harbhajan Singh has recently opened up on MS Dhoni’s approach in the UAE leg of the IPL. Harbhajan feels Dhoni’s entire focus now would be on leading CSK to another title this year.

Recently, MS Dhoni has been appointed as the mentor of team India for the T20 World Cup 2021. This news made the cricketing fraternity and fans happy as all are now raring to watch Dhoni back in the Indian dressing room.  Harbhajan Singh, however, feels that the CSK skipper wouldn’t be in his mentoring role at the moment and all his energies would be directed towards winning the tournament. It is uncertain if he will play another IPL and hence Singh reckoned that Dhoni will want to finish the league on a high note.

“I do not feel that MS Dhoni will be in his mentor role at the moment. He is currently in the captain’s role and I believe his complete focus will be on winning the championship for his team. It is uncertain if he will play next season, hence he will want to finish on a high note,” Singh said on the YouTube channel Sports Tak.

It is always a challenge to face MS Dhoni’s team: Harbhajan Singh

CSK had a dismaying outing in IPL 2020, but the team bounced back stronger to prove why they are termed as one of the best sides of the IPL. In the Indian leg of the tournament, the Dhoni-led side exuded their sheer dominance. The team believes in the process and Harbhajan Singh feels that facing the side is always a challenge.

The team possesses a couple of highly experienced players who can turn the fortunes of the game upside down. Singh shed light on these aspects and asserted that if KKR wants to win against CSK, they will have to play like champions.

“It is always a challenge to face MS Dhoni’s team because he often has a very good squad by his side. As CSK often takes the field with a number of experienced players, it is always a closely fought battle against them. If KKR wants to beat the likes of CSK and MI, then we will have to play like champions.”
