Faf du Plessis posts motivational tweet for his team ahead of England Test

South African skipper Faf du Plessis is set to miss all the action when his team take on England away from home at Lords from Thursday. Even if not as a player, the right-handed batsman will be in full support of his team and cheer for the Proteas as their number one fan from his couch.
Faf du Plessis is currently in South Africa as he decided to provide some mental support to his wife Imari, after the birth of their first child. Faf became the father of a baby girl on Thursday when Imari gave birth to a new member of the family. According to reports, Imari had a tough time during the process and was a ‘difficult’ birth. Due to the situation, du Plessis extended his stay in the country and decided to skip the first Test against England.
30-year-old Dean Elgar will take on the captain’s armband for the first Test, while Du Plessis is expected to be back before the 2nd Test. Trent Bridge will host the second chapter of the Test series which will kick off on July 14th.

The 32-year-old took to Twitter and expressed his sadness over the fact that he will not be able to be a part of the South Africa team when they begin their battle against the Three Lions. But the experienced batsman had a message that will motivate his team to perform well in his absence. 24-year-old youngster Theunis de Bruyn is likely to come in as a replacement for Du Plessis and stabilise the middle order. Apart from his power hitting abilities the De Bruyn is also a useful bowler and has a great amount of potential to make it big in the cricketing world.
