Glenn Maxwell was at the top of his A-game during his recent outing against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Chasing 150 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Royal Challengers Bangalore sent Maxwell at number four the Aussie didn’t disappoint. He played some brilliant shots and knocked RR out of the game. Overall, he scored an unbeaten 50 off 30 balls as RCB crossed the line in 17.1 overs, winning the contest by seven wickets.

Maxwell’s spectacular show left RCB fans enthralled as social media got flooded with praises. Interestingly, one of Elon Musk’s tweet coincided with Maxwell’s knock, and fans were left bewildered. “Maxwell was incredible,” wrote Musk around the time the game got over. With Musk being one of the most prominent personalities worldwide, IPL fans were quick to notice his post.

Apparently, Musk reacted to a post that talked about popular physicist James Clerk Maxwell. However, he coincidentally made the tweet around the time the game got over. Also, he only used the surname ‘Maxwell’ in his post and not the full name. Hence, fans took the opportunity to relate the situation and strike a few jokes.

Meanwhile, Maxwell has been at his all-round best in the ongoing competition. With the tracks in UAE being spin-friendly, Kohli has used him often and Maxwell didn’t mind delivering. Overall, the Australian all-rounder has smashed 350 runs in 11 matches alongside taking three wickets. With IPL 2021 approaching its business end, RCB would want Maxwell to extend his purple and end their trophy drought.

Coming to the RR vs RCB game, the coin landed in Bangalore’s favour and Virat Kohli opted to bowl. The decision seemed costly at start with Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal giving RR a flying start. Both openers played some delightful shots and added 77 runs for the first wicket. While the Men in Pink looked all set to post a mammoth total, they suffered a batting collapse and got restricted to 149/9.

Chasing the tricky total, RCB didn’t face much trouble and comfortably crossed the line. Besides Maxwell, skipper Kohli also slammed an impressive century.
