England U19s attempt to defeat the India U19s yet again in the ongoing tour continued to fail as the visitors were successful in making it 4-0 in the 5-match Youth ODI series following a 2-0 win in the 2-match Youth Test series. The Duckworth-Lewis Stern method came into play to decide the winner of the 4th Youth ODI at Bristol as rain interrupted India’s chase when they were only one run ahead of the par score.

England raced to a good start after India elected to field as their opener Liam Trevaskis and the middle order batsmen Felix Organ and Tom Lammonby scored fifties. However, the left-arm spinner Shiva Singh picked up 5 wickets in his first match on the tour to restrict the home side to 276/8.

Shubman Gill once again starred with the bat after India lost 3 wickets for just 58 runs. He scored 66 off just 57 balls with 7 fours and a six and shared an 81-run stand with Abhishek Sharma at his departed the team score was 139/4 in 25.5 overs. With an unbeaten 45 off 54 balls, Abhishek added 12 runs in the next 13 balls as India were placed at 151/4 at end of 28 overs when rain interrupted the game and didn’t allow any further play. The DLS par score for the loss of 4 wickets after 28 overs was 150 and hence, India were declared the winners.
