England are the overwhelming favourites to clinch the third ODI of the ongoing five-match series against Australia. The visitors haven’t looked shoddy but have lacked the killing instinct so far and are now facing the must-win encounter. The game will be a day-night affair and will be played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. However, the wet weather in England over the last few days has left the teams worried about the prospects of this game as well.

Eoin Morgan is set to return to the side for this encounter after missing the last match with a back spasm. He will also retain the leadership duties from Jos Buttler and would be confident of his team sealing the series. Australia, on the other hand, are struggling with the injury issues to Glenn Maxwell who didn’t train much on the eve of the game. Tim Paine, their skipper, has been cleared fit to play and he will somehow have to lead from the front and play a vital role to infuse the confidence in the unit.

Frequent interruptions in store?

According to Accu Weather, it is currently cloudy in Nottingham and it will remain the same during the first half of the game as well. Under lights, the clouds are expected to clear and the chances of rain whole day are very bleak. Though the possibility of a passing shower to interrupt the proceedings can’t be denied. The temperatures will hover around 16 Degrees to 20 Degrees Celsius whole day and the spectators will witness another exciting game for sure.

There will be humidity as well with the cloud cover of around 90 per cent during the match. The overcast conditions are expected to help the bowlers as well which might prompt the team winning the toss to bowl first.

Overall verdict: There will be no rain during the match but the groundsmen will have to be on their toes at least during the first innings. In the evening there will not be any threat as the clouds are set to get cleared.
