The Australian team is currently in England for a limited-overs series where they are standing on the verge of a clean sweep with the scoreline at 4-0 in the ODI fixtures. Eoin Morgan and his men have been phenomenal and on the contrary, Tim Paine and his men have been disappointing, to say the least. The Final ODI will be played today at the Old Trafford in Manchester.

The Aussies’ bowling has looked lackluster and the likes of Jason Roy, Johnny Bairstow, and Alex Hales have pounced on them with sheer disdain. The highest ever ODI score of 481 was also piled against them at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Meanwhile, prior to the last match, Ashton Agar, the Aussie all-rounder, believes that his team can beat the odds and turn over their rivals.

“We have been outplayed”- Agar

”It’s going to be tough, but I absolutely believe we can beat them: we have no choice (but) to believe that we can beat them. But we need to play our very best cricket against a side that’s played really well four games in a row. We have to bring our absolute best,” Agar was quoted at the venue of the upcoming match.

Agar has been impressive with the bat with 130 runs from 4 matches at an average of 32.50 and with a highest score of 46. The left-hander has picked up only 3 wickets with an economy of over 6, which are disappointing figures. The Victorian didn’t mince any words while saying that they have been outperformed and need to churn out the areas of improvement with the World Cup coming next year.

“We have been outplayed, that’s the truth. All we can do now is focus on us and look to improve in every area possible — batting, bowling, fielding, cricket smarts. But we have to keep learning from those experiences and it’s good to experience that now and not in a World Cup,” the all-rounder added.
