During the fourth Test against England at The Oval, India scripted history as they pulled the match in their favour in the most enthralling manner and won it by 157 runs. Till the starting of day five of the same Test, it looked like England are getting in a commanding position and their opening pair was dominating. However, what India bowlers did next was there for all to see.

In the light of an epic victory by team India, Virat Kohli’s wife and actress Anushka Sharma appreciated the team efforts and took the same to her official IG story. After India’s clinical victory, Anushka posted a picture of the team and wrote ‘This team’ with a blue heart icon.

The Oval Test didn’t start very well for India as they could only post 191 runs in the first innings of the game but went on to level up their action in the subsequent sessions. England were wrapped up on 291 in the first innings and bowlers even did a fine job there. However, what came up in India’s 2nd innings can only be called a sheer example of teamwork and batting class. Apart from Rohit Sharma’s sensational ton, almost every batsman chipped in with vital runs to let India post a huge 466 on the board.

The English team could not do very well under the pressure of a huge target, though their opening partnership turned to be the best. It was during the second session of the final day that Indian bowlers ran through the home side’s middle and lower order and folded their show too quickly.

England had to bear the loss by 157 runs and it turned to be India’s first victory at The Oval in 50 years. As India has taken a 2-1 lead in the game, it remains to be seen if they will pull off the series in Manchester or it would result in a draw. Rohit Sharma was declared as the player of the match for his sensational ton in the 2nd innings of the game.
