The 4th Test match has been one where fortunes have fluctuated constantly

The 4th Test match between Virat Kohli’s men and Joe Root’s men has been one where the fortunes have fluctuated between the two sides constantly. India was bowled out for just 191 in the first innings, and England replied with a total of 290.

But then, the Indian batsmen produced an excellent performance in the second innings. Opener Rohit Sharma led the way with a sparkling 127 off 256 deliveries in the second innings and put on a game-changing partnership of 153 runs for the second wicket with Cheteshwar Pujara.

England then came back into the match and picked up a flurry of quick wickets. But then, Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant put on a sensational counter-attacking 100-run partnership between them. While Pant scored a sedate 50 off 106 deliveries, Thakur scored a quick 72-ball 60. India was bowled out for a total of 466 and set England a target of 368 for victory.

The England openers produced a solid start for the Joe Root-led side in the second innings, and the hosts ended Day 4 with their scoreboard reading 77/0. England will begin Day 5 with 291 more runs needed for a win, while India will be looking to bowl out England and obtain a 2-1 lead.
