England batting coach Graham Thorpe might be axed for his role in the drinking fiasco after the 5th Ashes Test

The England cricket team players, Joe Root and James Anderson were involved in a drinking session, and this has caught the limelight in the world of cricket. And, the video of the incident was taken by the batting coach of the England side, Graham Thorpe.

In fact, the players were still wearing their Test jerseys at the time of the incident. Also, Graham Thorpe was heard speaking in the video. “We’ve got Nathan Lyon, Root, there’s Carey and Anderson. I’ll just video this for the lawyers. See you in the morning everyone,” Thorpe was heard saying in the video.

Also, it has been claimed that Thorpe was seen smoking in the video as well, and the Tasmanian law clearly states that a person is not allowed to smoke indoors as it is against the law.

Also, after England’s dismal Ashes performance, Thorpe might not retain his position as the batting coach of the England side. The same holds true for the head coach of the side Chris Silverwood as well as the managing director Ashley Giles.

Also, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is not happy with Thorpe’s video going public as well. England have already issued an apology regarding the incident for the inconvenience caused. The ECB also added that they will investigate further into this matter as well.

England were absolutely hammered in the recently concluded Ashes series against Australia. Joe Root and his men were thrashed 0-4 by a spirited Australian side in the five-match series in the land of the kangaroos and the visitors were outplayed in every department of the game.

England will next take on the West Indies in a limited-overs series that is scheduled to commence on 22nd January 2022. The series will comprise of 5 T20Is as well as 3 Test matches. All the T20I games will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
