England came back strong in the 2nd ODI after a thrilling tie in the first game as they thrashed Sri Lanka to secure a 10-wicket win. With this win, England win the first ever Super Series with 3 ODIs and a T20I still to be played. After electing to bat, Sri Lanka posted 254/7 in their 50 overs which was chased by the hosts without losing a wicket in just 34.1 overs. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.

2 – Only the 2nd time England has used 3 spinners in a home ODI. They used Dalrymple, Yardy and Pietersen vs Pakistan at Nottingham in 2006.

2 – Only the 2nd time two England openers scored centuries in the same ODI game. Trescothick and Solanki scored tons vs SA at Oval in 2003.

3 – Number of century stands Jason Roy and Alex Hales have between them while opening. Among England pairs, only Marcus Trescothick and Nick Knight pair had more (4 century stands).

255 – For the first time, a team has chased down a target over 250 successfully in ODIs without losing a wicket. Previously the highest was 236 by New Zealand vs Zimbabwe in 2015.

256* – Partnership stand between Jason Roy and Alex Hales in this game for England’s opening wicket. This is now the highest opening stand in ODIs for England and also the highest opening stand for any team against Sri Lanka.
