The 3rd and final Test of the England-Sri Lanka series ended as a draw with the rain spoiled what could have been an exciting game of Cricket on Final day. However, England won the series 2-0 following their easy wins in the first two games. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.

3 – Number of centuries Jonny Bairstow has scored in Test Cricket in 2016 as a keeper. These are the joint 2nd most hundreds scored by a keeper in a calendar year in Tests.

3 – Number of century stands Dimuth Karunaratne and Kaushal Silva have between them for opening wicket in Test Cricket. For Sri Lanka, only Atappatu-Jayasuriya pair with 9-century stands had more.

5 – Number of consecutive Tests between England and Sri Lanka ended as a draw at Lord’s. 2002, 2006, 2011 and 2014 Test matches between these two teams at Lord’s ended in a draw before this game.

4 – Alex Hales became the 4th player to be dismissed in the 90s in all 3 formats of International Cricket. Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, and Steven Smith are other 3 names.

7 – Alastair Cook batted at No.7 in England’s 2nd innings. This is the lowest Alastair Cook has batted in his Test Career. He never batted below No.3 before this. Last time he batted not as an opener was back in August 2006 vs Pak.

13 – Number of fifty plus scores Alastair Cook has recorded in at Lords in Test Cricket, the most by any player. He went past Ian Bell who had 12 fifty plus scores at the venue.

2011 – Last time Sri Lankan opening pair put on a fifty-run opening stand outside Asia was in 2011 also against England and also at Lord’s.

2002 – Alex Hales and Nick Compton opening for England in 2nd innings was the first instance for them since 2002 where two right handed players opened for them in a Test innings. The last instance was between Michael Vaughan and Rob Key vs India in 2002 at Leeds.

5129 – Runs scored by Alastair Cook in England in Test Cricket. He became only the 2nd player after Graham Gooch to score 5000 runs in Tests in England.

7137 – Balls played by Alastair Cook in between his two sixes in Test Cricket. Since June 2001, only two batsmen had a longer Six less streaks than Cook. VVS Laxman didn’t hit a six for 7974 balls between March 2005 and December 2010. Jonathan Trott didn’t even hit a six in his Test career in which he played 8128 balls.

10176 – Runs scored by Alastair Cook in Test Cricket. He is now the 11th highest run-getter in this format.
