England will take on India in the first ODI of the three-match series on July 12, Tuesday, at The Oval in London. The two teams previously played in a three-match T20I series, which ended on July 10. Rohit Sharma’s side clinched the series 2-1 and extended their supremacy over the Three Lions.

Shikhar Dhawan joined the Indian camp for the upcoming ODI series. Following Suryakumar Yadav’s valiant effort in the third T20I at Trent Bridge, he might get a nod over Shreyas Iyer for a place in the middle order for the first ODI.

Young left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh and Karnataka fast bowler Prasidh Krishna also made the India squad. Other fast bowlers in the squad are Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur. And India might go with their two senior pacers Bumrah and Shami, along with either Siraj or Prasidh and fast-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya. If the team would opt for one specialist spinner, it could be the senior leggie Yuzvendra Chahal along with spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Senior English players Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes are back in the England white-ball team. The hosts might also go with one specialist spinner in leg-spinner Matt Parkinson and pacers David Willey, Reece Topley, and Sam Curran, and off-spin bowling all-rounder Moeen Ali.

Here’s a look at how the weather will behave during England vs India 1st ODI

The temperature at The Oval in the evening is expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius and might change drastically once there is no daylight. The weather forecast suggests that it is going to be a cloudy evening, and it is expected for the temperature to drop down to around 25 degrees Celsius at night.

The T20I series showed that the ball swings under the lights and both teams will be mindful of that. The conditions might favour Indians more than the English team since England is currently battling against uncharacteristic heatwaves.
