India showed supremacy over England in both batting and bowling departments to begin their tour with a big 8-wicket win in the 3-match T20I series. The hosts were trapped by the left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav who bagged a 5-wicket haul. Jos Buttler scored a 46-ball 69 without which England wouldn’t have reached 159/8 in their 20 overs.

KL Rahul took over the England bowlers in the moderate chase walking out to bat in the first over after the loss of Shikhar Dhawan. He shared a 123-run stand with Rohit Sharma for the 2nd wicket out of which Rahul scored 89. He brought up his century in 53 balls before Virat Kohli scored the winning six with ten balls to spare.

All the stats and numbers recorded during India’s 8-wicket victory over England:

1 – Kuldeep Yadav became the first chinaman bowler in the T20I history to take a 5-wicket haul. More numbers from England’s innings: Kuldeep Yadav runs through England’s batting despite Jos Buttler’s fifty

3England innings included three golden ducks (Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Chris Jordan). This is only the 5th instance when three or more players bagged golden or diamond ducks in the same T20I innings.

Their innings is also the first in T20I history where two players got out stumped for a duck. Both Bairstow and Root were dismissed via stumped on the first ball by Kuldeep Yadav.
