India and England are currently involved in the three-match T20 International series. The visitors are leading things in the shortest format after winning the first game as Eoin Morgan and his men will want to level the series in Cardiff today. But the team management has more things to worry about as the Test series is fast approaching. Their ace fast bowler Stuart Broad is injured is hopeful of recovering in time for the first Test.

Broad last played for England in the second and final Test match against Pakistan in June and then sustained an injury while playing for his County Nottinghamshire against Worcestershire last week. He has taken injections in a bid to recover fast and play a game or two later this month to get himself ready for the much-awaited contest against India.

When will Broad return?

Stuart Broad is eager to return for the game against Surrey in the ongoing County Championship starting July 22 and is confident of overcoming his ankle injury.

“I’ve had some injections in my left ankle for an ongoing ligament problem after seeing brilliant specialists and having different scans. It needs five days’ rest, then aiming to run Tuesday and build up quickly with an aim to play for Notts CC against Surrey CCC July 22nd. That’s the plan!!” he provided an update to his fans in his latest story on Instagram.

England are also fretting over the fitness of Broad’s new-ball partner James Anderson who is recovering from shoulder injury. He is also set to prove his fitness by playing in the second XI game for Lancashire on July 15 and then will take part in the County Championship match against Yorkshire in the following week.

The five-match Test series between India and England will commence on August 1 in Edgbaston. The tour will conclude on September 11 as the fifth and final game will be played at the Kennington Oval in London.
