England had a satisfactory second day that was cut short by rain in the first two sessions as the hosts ended the day on 302/7 in their first innings. After bundling out Pakistan to 174 on day one, England batsmen failed to score big as their top order was restricted to the scores of 20s and 40s.

All the five bowlers used by Pakistan have picked up at least one wicket thus far. Jos Buttler once again stands as the last string of England’s batting as they have managed to extend their lead with the help from the lower order batsmen.
