Team England is going through a tough time in the ongoing Test series against Pakistan. They lost the first Test by 9 wickets. To add to their miseries, an injury concern to their chief all-rounder Ben Stokes hit them. Stokes was ruled out of the second and final Test against Pakistan following a hamstring injury. Now, the recent reports suggest that the all-rounder might be out of action for some days.

He has been diagnosed by a torn hamstring which is set to keep him out of action for at least a couple of weeks. He had injured his hamstring during a practice session ahead of the second Test against Pakistan. The reports in ESPNcricinfo has revealed that the severity of the tear that Ben Stokes has sustained cannot be ascertained right now. The doctors will have to assess the tear for a couple of days.

Stokes is likely to have another scan sometime next week. If things do not fall into place, he could well be out of action for several weeks. This, in essence, would mean that Stokes will miss out on the limited overs cricket that England is scheduled to play after the Test series.

Upcoming limited-overs assignments

The limited overs season for the English side will commence on June 10 with a one-off ODI against Scotland. Following the fixture against Scotland, the English side will host Australia for a five-match ODI series. With the two assignments online, it seems improbable that Stokes will be able to regain fitness in time. He can hope to fully recover from his injury by the time team India arrives in England for the full tour in July.

Ben Stokes is a key player for the English side and is one of their main men in the lead up to the ICC World Cup 2019. England is already being tipped as favourites for the mega event. And if someone as big as Stokes is out of practice, their chances will get hampered big time.
