Pavel Florin of Romania grabbed everybody’s attention whilst the match against Hungary in the European Cricket Championship on Wednesday, September 22. Previously, Florin had become an internet sensation owing to his odd bowling technique. A video of Florin’s bowling had gone viral on Twitter and had fetched a lot of attention from the cricket onlookers.

However this time around, he has grabbed the headlines for some other reasons. Coming in to bat at number 11 for Hungary in the European Cricket Championship, Florin hit his first boundary of the tournament. He moved to the off-stump and played the ball in the deep square leg region for four. After having hit the boundary, he decided to celebrate the shot.

Pavel Florin celebrates his boundary in Sreesanth style

Florin went down on one knee and swirled his bat in the air before walking back to the dressing room at the end of the innings. His celebration was a tad bit similar to Sreesanth’s celebration which came against South Africa in the year 2006-07.

The incident dates back to the time when India had toured South Africa. During the first Test match of the series in Johannesburg, the Proteas bowler Andre Nel was bowling bouncers and also passed a few comments. This triggered Sreesanth and tempted him to give it back to the speedster.

On the very next ball, Sreesanth stepped out and hit the bowler for a maximum over the long-on. Post the six, he made sure that he celebrated it to make the shot memorable for all the onlookers. He then made a dance move by swinging his bat. In the match, he further garnered the audacity of the occasion by clinching eight wickets which also included a five-wicket haul.

“Andre Nel was talking a lot. He kept saying that Indians don’t have a heart and that they (South Africa) were the better team. I wanted to tell him to look at the scoreboard once; we had the upper hand. I had gotten out for a duck in the first innings, and a lot of our better batsmen hadn’t scored too many runs that day,” Sreesanth had previously said as reported by Cricxtasy.
