The Supreme Court of India has accepted most of the Lodha Committee recommendations covering wide-ranging aspects of the game in India. The BCCI will now be implementing the reforms suggested by the Justice RM Lodha Committee and thus the ex-cricketers from now onwards will have a say in the game.

PS Raman, the Vice-President of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), and also the chairman of the BCCI’s legal committee said that they are set to induct 17 new members in their association and this recommendation is nothing new to them as they used to have former players as administrators.

“One of the recommendations of the report is that every state association must provide the membership with a right to vote to all the former India cricketers coming under their umbrella. So, we’re set to induct 17 new members in our association in our next meeting,” Raman told TOI on Friday. “In TNCA we’ve always had former players as administrators,” he added.

In this case, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will have to provide the maximum membership as around 70 of their cricketers who have represented Mumbai.

“We had already made this provision in our constitution. All our former India cricketers are our members too,” said former India cricketer Brijesh Patel, who is the secretary of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).

Most of the associations already have a CEO (Chief Executive Officer), so they will be looking forward to appointing a CFO (Chief Financial Officer), a COO (Chief Operating Officer) and may be a CCO (Chief Commercial Officer). They will also need to include a nominee of the Accountant General (AG) of that particular state in the association.
