Birmingham Phoenix (BPH) will take on Trent Rockets (TRT) in the third match of The Hundred 2025 on Friday, August 8, at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The Phoenix won six out of eight games last season and were in second position in the points table. They faced Southern Brave in the eliminator game, which ended in a tie. The Brave won the Super Over and qualified for the final. The Rockets won and lost four matches each last season and were in fifth position.

Liam Livingstone will lead the Phoenix this year. Trent Boult, Adam Milne, and Tim Southee are the three overseas players in the squad. Ben Duckett was the leading run-scorer for the team last season and made 269 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 171.33. Southee was the highest wicket-taker last season and finished with 14 wickets to his name.

David Willey is the captain of the Rockets. The three overseas players in the squad are Marcus Stoinis, George Linde, and Lockie Ferguson. Linde won’t be available for the first two matches of the team as he is a part of South Africa’s squad for the T20I series against Australia. Akeal Hosein has been picked on the side in place of Linde for these two matches.
