England Champions will take on Australia Champions in the third match of the WCL 2025 on Saturday, July 19, at Edgbaston. It will be the second game of the season for England, while Australia will be playing their first match. Australia finished in top place last season with four wins in five matches. They faced India in the second semi-final and lost the match by 86 runs.
England faced the Pakistan Champions in the first match and elected to bowl after winning the toss. Pakistan scored 160 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Chris Tremlett and Liam Plunkett took two wickets each for England. Phil Mustard and Ian Bell scored a half-century each for England. However, the other batters didn’t have a decent outing, and England finished with 155 runs for the loss of three wickets. Pakistan won the match by five runs.
Brett Lee will lead Australia once again this season. Ben Laughlin is the only player from last year’s squad who is not a part of the squad this year. The new additions include Chris Lynn, Moises Henriques, Steve O’Keefe, Rob Quiney, and D’Arcy Short.
