Gujarat will be up against Hyderabad in the 12th game of the Indian Premier League 2024. The two teams have had a contrasting journey in the league till now. While Hyderabad lost the first match in a thriller, they won the second match in a roaring fashion. Against Kolkata in their first match, Hyderabad lost by just four runs. But they made a stellar comeback and won against Mumbai in the following game by 31 runs. Gujarat has had the opposite campaign till now. They won the first game against Mumbai by just 6 runs at home.

Touring Chennai, they were totally outclassed by Chennai, who restricted Gujarat to 143 defending a total of 207 runs. A 63-run loss has dented the net run rate and confidence of the 2022 champions. They have a lot to think about as they head back home to take on Hyderabad who have looked the best they have been in the last 4-5 seasons. The 2016 champions just registered a record-breaking score of 277 against Mumbai in the previous game. They would be high on confidence despite conceding 246 runs as a bowling unit. It's their batting that has come to the party in both matches.
In the first game against Kolkata, they nearly chased 209. The key for Hyderabad would be to bowl better as a unit. Barring Pat Cummins, other bowlers have been ordinary in the two matches. For Gujarat, the concerns would be their batting. Their star batters like David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Wriddhiman Saha, and others look to be out of touch. The only one scoring runs for them, Sai Sudarshan, has been batting slow. The 2023 finalists need to be better as a batting unit. At Ahmedabad, one can expect a gold match between the two former champions.

Heinrich Klaasen has been in brilliant form with the bat. He smashed 63(29) in the first match against KKR and took SRH close to chasing the total. Against MI, he was even better and scored 80 runs in 34 balls. He has been fine as a WK as well.
Rashid Khan GT | BOWL
Rashid Khan can contribute both as a batter and as a bowler. While he has been expensive in the last couple of matches, the Afghanistan bowler can be handy by claiming the wickets. He can add some runs lower down the order.
Sai Sudharsan GT | BAT
Sai Sudarshan has been the highest run scorer for GT in the ongoing season. In both the matches in the season so far, the Southpaw has batted well. Though he needs to work on strike rotation, the youngster can score runs in the middle.
Pat Cummins SRH | BOWL
Pat Cummins has been one of the best bowlers in the IPL 2024. In both the matches, he was the best bowler of SRH. Against KKR, he was the second-best bowler claiming a wicket and conceding just 32 runs. Against MI, he claimed 2/35 when all the bowlers went for runs.

Travis Head had a sensational outing against MI. The Souhpaw smashed 62 runs in 24 balls and helped SRH to break the record of the team with the best score. If Head gets going early, he will be dangerous against GT at Ahmedabad.

Shahbaz Ahmed played a fine cameo with the bat against KKR. The Southpaw smashed a couple of sixes and a four in his innings of 19(7) which unfortunately ended up in the losing cause. He can claim some crucial wickets as well.
