In the 24th match of the Indian Premier League 2026, the Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on the Punjab Kings (PBKS). Mumbai Indians endured a disappointing performance in their previous match, suffering an 18-run defeat against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Bengaluru posted a huge total of 240 runs after batting first, but Mumbai could only manage 122 in response. The chase got off to an average start, with the top order struggling to find momentum.

However, Sherfane Rutherford attempted to stabilise the innings with some positive stroke play, contributing 71 runs in the middle order, while Hardik Pandya also scored 40 runs. Earlier, in the bowling department, Trent Boult, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell Santner and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each.

On the other hand, the Punjab Kings performed well in the previous game as they won by 6 wickets against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Hyderabad, batting first, set a target of 219 runs, which Punjab successfully chased down in ‌18.5 overs. Punjab’s top order contributed effectively, with Priyansh Arya scoring 57 runs, while Shreyas Iyer played a match-winning knock of 69. Moreover, Prabhsimran Singh also played well and scored 51 off just 25 deliveries. In the bowling department, Shashank Singh delivered an excellent spell, claiming two wickets for 20 runs in three overs, while Arshdeep Singh chipped in with two wickets.
