Due to persistent rain, the match was reduced to eight overs a side. In a shorter version of the game, MI batters failed to put up a good total as they looked scratchy. Kieron Pollard looked like the lone batter who was in good swing as he struck 33 and took the team to a total of 80 runs. Super Kings, in reply, had no trouble going in full throttle right from the start as both openers smashed the bowlers around and took the team to victory by 10 wickets.
