The first ODI match in the three-match series between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan is slated to take place at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota. In recent One Day Internationals (ODIs), Sri Lanka hasn't played well, losing four of their past five games against India and New Zealand. They have invited a few experienced players to form a core group ahead of the 2023 world cup.
