Preview
West Indies (WI) and New Zealand (NZ) will square off on Tuesday, July 14, in the second ODI in the five-match series. This match is going to be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Shai Hope-led West Indies played brilliantly in the first ODI and registered a comprehensive seven-wicket win in Guyana on Sunday. Alzarri Joseph's spirited four-for helped the home side dismiss New Zealand for 267 in 49.5 overs after Daryl Mitchell scored a fighting half-century. In reply, the West Indies lost the wicket of John Campbell in the fifth over before Ackeem Auguste and Keacy Carty forged a crucial 64-run partnership.
After Auguste was dismissed for 38, Shai Hope joined forces with Carty and stitched a 131-run stand off 153 balls to take their team to the brink. Carty unfortunately departed five runs short of his century. However, Hope and Sherfane Rutherford didn't allow the Kiwis to make further inroads, taking their team to victory with seven balls to spare. The West Indies captain remained unbeaten on 87 off 92 deliveries. They would like to continue from where they left off.

Player Picks
Shai Hope WI | WKBAT
Shai Hope looked in sublime touch in the first ODI and will be the batter to watch out for in the second.
Alzarri Joseph WI | BOWL
Alzarri Joseph was the star performer with the ball. His four-wicket haul prevented New Zealand from ending their innings with a flourish.
Keacy Carty WI | BAT
Keacy Carty played a solid knock at No. 3, scoring 95 runs off 112 balls, hitting 10 fours and two sixes. He is technically gifted and can play the anchor's role to good effect.
Daryl Mitchell NZ | BAT
Daryl Mitchell is a modern-day great when it comes to ODI cricket. The Kiwi batter fought hard in tricky conditions in the first ODI and scored 65 off 73 balls. New Zealand will pin their hopes on him doing well with the bat.
Vitel Lawes WI | BOWL
The 19-year-old left-arm wrist spinner had an impressive debut, picking up three wickets in his 10-over spell. He would have a key role to play through the middle overs.
Nathan Smith NZ | ALL-ROUNDER
Nathan Smith is a seam-bowling all-rounder who can be a crucial player in these conditions. He bowled decently in the first ODI but failed to pick up wickets. Smith will want to contribute not just with the ball but also with the bat.
