West Indies Champions (WIC) will face South Africa Champions (SAC) in the second match of the WCL 2025 on Saturday, July 19, at Edgbaston. West Indies won two out of five games last season and finished in third place. They faced the Pakistan Champions in the first semi-final and lost the match by 20 runs. South Africa Champions were in fifth place and won two out of five matches last season.
The West Indies have added the likes of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Kieron Pollard, and Dwayne Bravo to the squad. Pollard recently played in the Major League Cricket and helped the MI New York lift the trophy for the second time in a row. Chris Gayle has been appointed the captain of the team.
Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, and Albie Morkel will play in the tournament for the first time. Jacques Kallis was the captain of the side last year. However, this year, de Villiers will captain the team. The team also has the likes of Wayne Parnell, Hardus Viljoen, and Aaron Phangiso, who are still active in domestic cricket and have played a lot of games this year.
