We have to find the right balance for each game: David Warner

The defending champions of the Indian Premier League scripted a wonderful victory over last year’s finalists Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match of the 10^th season of the prestigious tournament. And the captain of the side David Warner looks absolutely delighted with his team’s wonderful start to the season.

The Australian batsman believes that the win was a hard earned one irrespective of who was playing or not for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and feels that it would boost the confidence of the team a lot.

Warner quoted “That wins gives great confidence to the entire team. Especially, the way the guys batted. It was a fantastic effort. And, in bowling, Bhuvi (pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar) is a genius with his skill and execution on such a pitch in especially in death overs. We have now quite a few bowling options with the induction of leggie Rashid Khan of Afghanistan in the team”

Warner also commented on the Mustafizur Rahman, the Bangladeshi pacer, and expects him to join the team for the Mumbai game on April 12^th. The 30 year looked very confident of his bowling attack as the Sunrisers has a really well-balanced side and lots of options to choose from.

“The objective would be to find the right balance for each game in any given scenario. I think the key is the middle overs in this format when the batting side will try to accelerate the runs. But again, we have the experience of Nehra, Bhuvi and then there is Cutting, Moises and Rashid. We have plenty of options”

The captain also is satisfied with the performance of his players as they are responding well to the roles assigned to them. According to the Aussie, self-belief is a very important factor which every player must have.

“It is important to have self-belief and confidence to handle any situation. Each player has a specific role defined and we are pleased with the way they are responding.”
