The new decade of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is up and running as it has already created the buzz all over the country. Star Sports has left no stone unturned in covering all the aspects of the game and has signed as many 100 commentators in order to analyse it. While many of them are already in the studio and in the commentary box loving the quality of cricket being played, the former England cricketer Michael Vaughan will soon reach India and join his colleagues to witness the T20 extravaganza live for the first time.
Vaughan has been closely following all the updates of the tournament in the lead up to the cash-rich league and was excited to see so many England players playing in it. Interestingly, the likes of Tom Curran and Liam Plunkett are the latest to join to the long list of players to feature after Mitchell Starc and Kagiso Rabada were ruled out due to injuries.
Whom Vaughan is supporting
This will be the first time Michael Vaughan will be covering the IPL and is excited about the same. He took to microblogging website Twitter to express himself and cleared that he will be supporting Rajasthan Royals in the tournament. “Time to get to #India … My 1st live #IPL experience … will be cheering my beloved @rajasthanroyals on @StarSportsIndia … #BleedBlue,” he wrote in his tweet.
Royals would be playing their opening game of the tournament on Monday against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The team looks extremely strong on paper and Vaughan has been rooting for them ever since the auction took place. He kept a close eye on auctioned and has been backing them to go all the way this year. It would be interesting to see if the team manages to do the same under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane.
Here’s Vaughan’s tweet:
