Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has put forth certain predictions ahead of Chennai Super Kings’ match against Mumbai Indians in Match No.30 of the 2021 IPL. The tournament was halted in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic after which it had to be moved to the UAE. CSK and Mumbai will lock horns on September 19 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Chopra reckoned that the batters will start in a cautious manner and the first boundary of the game will come within the first two overs. The veteran stated the pitch would offer movement to the bowlers, who’ll be able to pick up at least one wicket inside the powerplay if not more.

“First boundary to be scored in the first 10 balls. Everybody might just start with a bit of caution and we might sight an inside edge or outside edge,” Chopra said on his Youtube channel.

Finger spinners to pick more wickets than wrist spinners, reckons Aakash Chopra

“First wicket to fall in the first four overs. Even two wickets might go down. When the IPL took place in Dubai last year on September 19, there was grass on the pitch and sideways movement was on show. One of Chahar, Bumrah or Boult is likely to get at least one wicket,” he stated.

Chopra also stated that the finger spinners are expected to taste more success than the wrist spinners in the opening game of the IPL 2021 second leg. He picked Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali as two of the key performers in the game.

“Finger spinners to pick more wickets than wrist spinners. Imran Tahir and Piyush Chawla may or may not play, but Rahul Chahar’s position in the team is assured. However, with long boundaries, Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja are likely to make more impact,” Chopra quipped.

Moreover, Chopra believed that five-time champion MI, led by Rohit Sharma, are likely to come out trumps over the Super Kings “Mumbai to win the match,” Chopra added. In the first leg, the Mumbai-based team defeated MS Dhoni and Co. after Kieron Pollard’s blistering knock. Even on the head-to-head count, MI are way ahead of their opponent.
