India was playing Australia in the 2nd ODI of the series at the Gabba, in their bid to level the series after going 0-1 down to the hosts at the WACA. The match had just started with the Indian skipper winning the toss and deciding to bat first. They soon lost opener Shikhar Dhawan and the two best batsmen in the team Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were at the middle. While the scoreboard read 23/1 in 4.5 overs there was something odd that a Fox Sports journalist Ben Dorries noticed and put it out on his Twitter handle.
After Rohit, Shikhar and Virat the next two names lined up to take the field for India were Irfan Pathan and Parthiv Patel, and as one scrolled through the other side, right at the top was former Australian captain Michael Clarke. Though Clarke is a retired cricketer now, Pathan and Patel would have certainly loved to see their names on the board.
Dorries mentioned Clarke in his tweet which read ‘Huge breaking news @MClarke23 making a shock comeback for Australia at Gabba today!’ Pup saw it later in the day and replied with, ‘Never say never.. Hahaha. Love the GABBA’

Both the Indian players Irfan and Parthiv are busy with their domestic commitments playing for their sides Baroda and Gujarat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy are doing well leading their respective teams into the Super League stages while Irfan is one of the leading wicket-takers in the T20 tournament Patel has also played a substantial part in Gujarat’s success.
