Gautam Gambhir not travelling with KKR ahead of KXIP clash: Discarded Indian opener and Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir has revealed that he won’t be travelling with the team to Pune to face Kings XI Punjab on Saturday as he is suffering from a stomach bug and fever. Gambhir tweeted that he is not travelling with the team to Pune and mentioned that Cramps, weakness and fever are taking their toll on him in a wrong time. He also tweeted that he is eating kichdee and curd-rice because of this.

Gambhir’s manager also said that he is down with Cramps and Fever and he is not travelling with the team. While speaking IANS, Gambhir’s manager Dinesh Chopra said He is not travelling with the team, he is down with a stomach bug and fever.

The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday and Gambhir has two more days to recover and be in time to lead his side against Kings XI. If Gambhir is ruled out of the match, then Kolkata Knightriders management will have a huge headache in appointing a captain as Gambhir’s deputy is Surya Kumar Yadav.

Kolkata will not only miss Gambhir for his captaincy, but also for his batting at the top order with Robin Uthappa. Gambhir has scored two consecutive fifties in this IPL. Kolkata, in the two matches so far has won one match and lost one, that marked an end to their winning streak in IPL.
