Gautam Gambhir thanks fans after reaching 4 million followers

Gautam Gambhir has been able to maintain himself in the news for some or the other reason. Be it his tweets showing support to the Indian Army, or his altercations with people who have opposing views about the country or patriotism, in general. He addresses not just cricket but public issues and is extremely interactive with his 4 million followers.

Recently, he was handed a four-match suspended ban in first-class cricket after a tiff with Coach KP Bhaskar in March this year. A three-member independent inquiry committee, set up by Justice Vikramjit Sen, comprising Madan Lal, Rajendra Rathore and Soni Singh, found Gambhir guilty of “seriously inappropriate behaviour”.

In the same week, he was a blessed with his second daughter. He immediately gave the good news to his Twitter family as he shared the picture of Aazeen, his firstborn with their second daughter. He tweeted, “An angel blessing our family, An angel brightening our lives, Welcome to the world, little angel!”

He was also in news recently as the spat with Manoj Tiwary in 2015 resurfaced. Tiwary, who once was Gambhir’s teammate at Shah Rukh Khan co-owned KKR, also had an altercation with Gambhir as the Bengal batsman played for Rising Pune Supergiant in the tenth edition of the IPL.

In all his ups and downs, his Twitter family simultaneously only grew stronger. Now he boasts a massive following of 4 million. His quality of holding a strong stance on social issues is what has probably rewarded him with the increasing love on Twitter.

While a few believe that his tweets are unnecessary and hateful, they are interesting because he does not shy away from putting his views across.

After he reached 4 million followers on Twitter today, Gambhir thanked his fans for the same. He said, “Four million strong. Thanks for continuously showering your love & blessings on my family and me with your wishes & prayers!”
