In the opening game of the main round of WT20, the Indian team suffered a major jolt. On a turning track, India restricted the Kiwis to 126-7. However, much to the dismay of a full house at Nagpur, the Men in Blue failed to conquer their quest.

The three spinners strategy worked quite well for New Zealand as they reduced India to 43 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. MS Dhoni stayed on but there was quite little he could do, due to the ever swelling required rate and no support from others. The Kiwis won by an exceptional 47 runs causing serious damage to India’s NRR, which might come handy in the later stages.

There was a lot of criticism regarding the pitch in Nagpur when South Africa had toured India. Glenn Maxwell had gone on to the extent of calling it “diabolical.” This time, he engaged in trolling the Indian team for losing in such favourable conditions. Inspite of a team that’s known for playing spin well, they struggled badly against the Kiwi spinners.

However, this didn’t go down quite well with some Indian fans. Some Indian fan even went to the extent of abusing Maxwell over his comments.

Though the tweets were in Hindi, Maxwell answered him in his own way with a slight troll as well.

When someone pointed out that the person indeed had abused him, Maxwell continued to banter it in a sarcastic way.

By the end of the match, he signed off by thanking the fans for the banter and also looked forward to their first game in Dharamshala against Kiwis. He stated that Australia would be wary and play at their best, if they have to pull off a victory against the black caps.
