Matthew Wade seems to be the most benefited players among Australia A squad on their current tour of England. The keeper-batsman has given up the role of keeping the wickets and has been putting on some brilliant performances with the bat. In the first of the 5-match unofficial series, Wade smashed a 67-ball 117 and followed it with a bigger knock in the second match against Derbyshire.

Chasing the home team’s total of 283/7 in Derby, Matthew Wade hit 155 in only 71 balls as Australia A finished the chase with 88 balls and seven wickets to spare. Wade recorded his century in 45 balls; the fastest by an Australian in List A cricket. He went on to complete his 150 in only 68 balls which is the 2nd quickest 150 in List A history standing behind AB de Villiers’ 64-ball effort in the 2015 World Cup.

Match Details:

The 4th game of the 5-match unofficial ODI series will be played between Gloucestershire and Australia A at the County Ground in Bristol.

The match starts at 11:00 AM local time (10:00 AM GMT) (3:30 PM IST).

Pitch Condition/Report:

The County Ground in Bristol is usually a high-scoring venue but the ongoing World Cup witnessed a bit of help for the spinners. There were two washed out games at this ground in the mega event which could have given a better idea about what sort of track can be expected for this unofficial ODI.

Average first innings score: 284 (Last 5 List A matches)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 4, Lost – 1

Team News:

(Will be added when there is an update)

Power Picks:

Benny Howell is among the lesser spoken all-rounders in England. His List A numbers are quite good as he averages 35.33 with the bat and 34.02 with the ball. Howell has shown his ability to succeed in various conditions and could be a headache to the visiting Australia A.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Matthew Wade and Peter Handscomb would be first preferred choices giving the way the duo performed in the first two matches. Benny Howell is a worthy all-rounder and can be useful at least as a vice-captain.

Other Captain/Vice-Captain Options (in order) – Mitch Marsh, George Hankins, Travis Head.

Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:

Keeper – Peter Handscomb (VC), Matthew Wade (C), Gareth Roderick

Expert Advice:

Australia A is making quite a few unexpected changes with their bowling. As a result, waiting for the line-up to be announced will be a better idea. James Pattinson is more likely to get a game having not played the first two.

Probable Winners:

Australia A is expected to go 3-0 up in the One-Day series with yet another comfortable win.
