The thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to hit the floors from September 19th, with the final being on November 10 in the UAE. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the BCCI decided to shift the tournament to the Middle East country to evade losses and provide fans with some much-awaited T20 action.

To curb the risk, the BCCI, amid COVID-19 pandemic, is expected to take all the necessary measures to host the cash-rich league amid the pandemic. Indian players and support staff will have to return negative for COVID-19 at least five times before they start training.

Since the announcement of IPL 2020, many prominent faces have expressed their excitement for the start of the T20 extravaganza. Australia’s David Warner also shared a picture of the IPL trophy on Instagram and asked fans to guess the winner of this year’s edition.

Warner, one of the most active cricketers on social media, had trolled a fan on Instagram who had written that Royal Challengers Bangalore will win this year’s tournament. However, the southpaw took a u-turn in his latest post and instead of trolling the user, he sent wishes to the Virat Kohli-led side.

When a fan wrote: “E Sala Cup Namde” on Warner’s latest Instagram video, he responded by wishing him good luck for the upcoming season.

David Warner is set to lead SRH in IPL 2020

Warner, an integral part of Sunrisers Hyderabad, is confirmed to take part in IPL. However, he might miss out on playing initial matches of the tournament as the international fixtures between Australia and England are likely to end in the third week of September.

The Australian international will be eager to deliver on the UAE soil and play a vital role in SRH’s title heist. Due to a one-year ban for his involvement in the infamous ball-tampering scandal, Warner had missed the 2018 edition while he played IPL 2019 under the leadership of New Zealand stalwart Kane Williamson.

Warner is set to lead the Hyderabad franchise this season as he has been appointed as the captain of SRH for IPL 2020. He has so far captained SRH in 47 matches, leading them to 26 wins including a title triumph.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, is yet to clinch the coveted trophy. RCB have made it to the final of the tournament twice until now but have failed to cross the finishing line. With a new venue in the frame, Kohli and his troops will also be hoping to lift their maiden IPL trophy.
