The comeback for Chennai Super Kings has been a phenomenal one with a dominating performance in the league so far. The franchise was heavily criticized for their choice of players in the auction as they preferred players on the old and ageing side. However, the veterans proved their worth with emphatic performances throughout the season. In a format dominated by youngsters, CSK a team full of veterans ageing well above 30 reached the finals at ease.

Harbhajan Singh was one amongst the lot, the 37-year-old veteran off-spinner had a decent season with the ball. He has been very economical and also provided great breakthroughs. He featured in 13 games out of the 15 CSK played. After being released by the Mumbai Indians franchise, Harbhajan was picked by their arch-rivals the Chennai Super Kings.

Bhajji to join Rohit Sharma as the most number of IPL wins as a player:

Bhajji, one of India’s finest off-spinners is all set to feature in his fourth IPL final. The veteran has won three IPL titles so far. If CSK  overpowers the winner of the second eliminator, Bhajji will join his former skipper – Rohit Sharma for the record of most IPL victories for a player. Rohit Sharma has won the title three times as Mumbai Indians skipper and once while he was part of the Deccan Chargers.

The journey so far

After playing ten seasons for Mumbai, it was a sudden change to don the yellow jersey for the offie. To make it more interesting, CSK’s first game was against Mumbai Indians. The drama continued as CSK pulled off a stunner and started off their campaign with an unbelievable victory. It has been a dominating performance from the IPL giants since then. The journey to their seventh final has been incredible with Watson, Rayudu, and Dhoni playing a key role.

“This is going to be my fourth final – it will be a great journey. It has been a great journey so far. Really happy we are sitting in the final and waiting for the other finalist,” Harbhajan was quoted by India Today. Harbhajan picked up seven wickets so far and has been very economical with the ball. The favourites will face off the winner of the second eliminator on Sunday.
